DataPro's component to HDMI converter gives you the flexibility to connect
your component video source to any HDMI or HDCP-compliant DVI monitor.
This is the perfect solution if want to connect a game console or DVD player
to a display with no available component video input.
Component video, also labeled Y/Pb/Pr or Y/Cb/Cr, uses three RCA connectors
to carry analog video signals (two for color, one for brightness). Converting this
type of image to a digital image (featuring binary values for red, green, and blue)
requires some serious computational hardware, and that's where products like the
CSV-955D come in.
It's not as easy or cheap as some folks would like, but analog-to-digital video
conversion can be done well with devices like this. It supports most standard
resolutions and maintains legibility for small text and details.
This video transcoder will also inject SPDIF digital audio from either coaxial RCA or
optical Toslink. Your video and audio can be transported together through one HDMI
cable, how convenient! Please note that DVI does not support audio, so if you convert
from HDMI to DVI you will not be able to take advantage of this feature.
